The Story

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice example of an upmarket "Double Row Border" Civil War Federal officer shoulder board for the rank of 1st Lieutenant, indicated by the single bar at each end. The color inside the border is scarlet red, the color indicating Artillery during the Civil War era and later. It is hand embroidered, made from wool fabric and bullion thread. It measures 4" x 1 1/2", and is just over 1/4" thick.

This example has some string sticking out of the edges indicating that this was likely uniform-removed, and it still presents beautifully, with a lovely patina. A very nice upmarket example that would be home in any Civil War insignia collection.
