The Story

Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is a nice lot of dug Civil War relics, including two US Cartridge box plates in separate dug condition, and three dug bullets.

The items include:

- Pattern 1861 Cartridge Box Plate: This is a genuine Pattern 1861 pattern Federal issue leather cartridge box front plate. This example was dug and is missing much of the lead content on the back, but this example does retain both of the iron retention loops, despite very heavy oxidation. There is remnants of an old dug number painted on.

- Pattern 1861 Cartridge Box Plate: This is a genuine Pattern 1861 pattern Federal issue leather cartridge box front plate. This is a heavily worn ground dug example with very heavy wear to the finish. This example retains one of the two iron retention loops. There are remnants of a number written in yellow.

- Three Civil War ground dug bullets, all appearing to be of the .58 Caliber Union Minie Ball variety. Varying conditions.

A good lot, ready for display.
