Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Lot. This is a really great Civil War Soldier personal item lot, consisting of several pieces that could be found in a Civil War soldier’s kit and belongings. Some items are military, and some are civilian items often used by soldiers.
The items include:
- Soldier’s Spoon & knife multi-tool/utensil marked to Stacey Bros. of Sheffield England with partial panel showing men aboard a ship.
- Set of 14 musket balls & bullets recovered from the battlefield, some shot and some unshot.
- One battlefield-recovered soldier’s button, Federal Eagle “I” Infantry button.
- Small Eagle hat plate, unsure of era but likely post-Civil War, Indian wars era. Unusual.
- One paper “cartridge” with small metal rod. Unsure of type.
- Large soldier’s drinking cup, 4 1/8” tall and 4” in diameter. The cup has some oxidation as shown and may be Confederate from its construction.
- Set of Officer’s Cavalry spurs with original spiked rowels and leather straps. Very difficult to find in this condition. No markings we could find.
