The Story

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. The Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" is a retired long-range, high-altitude, Mach 3+ strategic reconnaissance aircraft that was developed and manufactured by the American aerospace company Lockheed Corporation. The SR-71 was developed in the 1960s as a black project by Lockheed's Skunk Works division.

This is a very interesting framed patch which is mounted onto a certificate verifying that it was flown aboard an SR-71 aircraft at a speed in excess of Mach 3. This flight was made off the California coast in Aircraft 17971 with Major Dan House as Pilot and Major Blair Bozek as Reconnaissance Systems Officer. Both the aircraft and crew were based at Beale A.F.B., California. The certificate is signed by both Major House & Major Bozek.

The frame measures 12 x 15” and is in good shape with a hanging mount.

A fantastic piece of Aviation history, ready to display!
