Original Item. Only One Available. This is a service-used Indian Wars M1874 Dyer cartridge box used by the U.S. Cavalry. This example shows very heavy service use and is missing much of the leather finish on the back. It is faintly marked on the reverse side to WATERVLIET ARSENAL.Â
The box features riveted belt loops on the reverse, and a wool lined inner pocket. The leather is very worn, with heavy cracking and crazing in areas. The stitching is still tight, and the securing knob is well-retained.
A very scarce box in fair shape. Comes ready for further research and display.
