Original U.S. Navy Korean War Era H-4 USN Flight Helmet by Bassons Industries Corporation

Original Items: Only One Available. This is an very good condition 1956-1964 USN size Extra Large H-4 helmet that comes complete with internal webbing and one maker’s label for Bassons Industries Corporation of New York. Helmet features original gold paint and USN / USMC Aviator wings to front. All parts are in fair condition.

The H-4 features a rigid shell with reinforcing ridges and is constructed of a fiberglass cloth reinforced with epoxy resin. For this model a cloth inner helmet which incorporate the earphones was utilized. This was secured to the rigid shell by "pull the dot" snap fasteners on the cheek flaps and in some cases with additional straps attached to snap fastener in front and in the back of the rigid shell.

One of the internal padding pieces has come off and is stuck behind the straps. The rubber along the rim is heavily cracking with some pieces missing. The helmet has very heavy wear without any of its accessories. A fair example, good for display. Comes ready for further research and display.
