Original U.S. New Jersey Issue M1873 Rifle Socket Bayonet with 1st Pattern N.J. Frog Scabbard & M1874 .45/70 McKeever Cartridge Box with New Jersey Plate & Original Rounds

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a phenomenal Indian Wars gear set, with both pieces of gear marked NJ for the National Guard of New Jersey. The set includes a Springfield Trapdoor M1873 Rifle Socket Bayonet in Scabbard, and an M1874 .45/70 McKeever Cartridge Box.

The M1873 bayonet is really in good condition, with a gorgeous blued finish. It’s correctly marked U.S. on the ricasso. The scabbard is well-attached without serious denting. The rosette is correctly NJ marked.

The M1874 McKeever box is unmarked on the back and is heavily worn due to the cracking. The securing strap is retained but the knob is gone. The interior actually retains the rifle tool and twenty rounds, making the box rather heavy. The headstamps are all UMC.

This is a fantastic set, perfect for any New Jersey collection. Comes ready for further research and display!
