The Story

Original Item. Only One Available. This is an interesting post-WWII flare pistol developed by Kilgore Corporation for the US Coast Guard. This example has serial number 4921.

The side of the frame has the correct U.S. Coast Guard approval markings, reading U.S.C.G. APPROV. / NO. 160 028/10/1, and below this it has the KILGORE CORPORATION / MOD B / TOONE TENN. maker mark. There are some other proof marks, as well as serial number marking SER NO 4921 on the side of the frame. Many of these were converted into Rescue Line Throwing Pistols based on the British Schermuly Pistol Rocket Apparatus, but this one was not converted.

A very nice example that still dry fires correctly with its original lanyard.
