The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a great Pre-WWI pistol belt set with a scarce M1909 Rimless Eagle Snap Eight-Pouch Revolver Belt with a saber chape and attached M1909 Revolver holster which is unit-marked on the front flap. This is a very scarce model of belt to find.
The belt is Mills style but is not a Mills-manufactured example. The underside of the eagle snaps have small patent dates, the latest being September 7th, 1909. There is fraying of the pouch flaps as shown, but all eagle snaps are in good working order, and the saber chape is retained with rubbing to the leather. The number 55 is stenciled on the back of the belt.
Attached to the belt is an M1909 revolver holster which is stamped on the back:
ROCK ISLAND
ARSENAL
1908
T.C.C.
The front of the flap has stamped numbers which may be a unit marking:
F7
5
88
13
9
A great early belt rig, ready for further research and display.
