The Story

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous example of an Early American powder horn with a retained wooden plug and crude nailed construction. The bottom of the horn has a staggering 30 crude nails holding the wooden butt in place. This is one of the nicest looking horns we have offered.
The throat retains a long and rounded plug which is certainly original to it. The spout is made from iron and the horn has great color, much darker at the throat than the lower body. There is a very small etching likely meant to be worked on further. The horn is roughly 9½” long with the plug.
A very nice horn from Early America. Ready for further research and display.
