Original U.S. Revolutionary War Era Powder Priming Horn with Threaded Wooden Knob

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a large Cow Horn Powder Flask, measuring 12 inches in overall length. While possibly intended for a musket or other small arms, this size would sometimes be used for cannon priming. The end of the horn is fitted with a rounded wooden bottom plug which unscrews, and the threading is all hand-carved. The small plug on this example is just rolled newspaper, we are unsure from what era.

The horn has a lovely patina overall and the threaded wooden knobs are very difficult to find intact. There are some cracks and wear as shown.
