Original U.S. Spanish American War Blue Federal .45-70 Ammunition Belt with US Buckle by Mills & Orndorff

Original Item. Only One Available. This is an excellent Mills Web Ammunition belt for the Trapdoor Springfield rifle with a Federal U.S. belt buckle used by federal troops of the U.S. Army during the Spanish American War and the Philippine Insurrection.

The belt is a lovely dark web material and has spaces for 50 .45-70 cartridges. The finish on the belt buckle is a bit worn but has a nice patina, and still comes off easily. The web belt is soft and pliable and in fine condition with no rips, holes or fraying. The back of the buckle is marked:

The back of the belt is stenciled 49 M which could be a unit marking. A great Spanish American War belt, ready for further research and display.
