Original Item: Only One Available. Very nice condition early 20th century Spanish American War New York National Guard 22nd Regiment Dress Shako helmet. The pressed, black felt is in very good condition. The leather front visor shows a bit of crazing, while the crown shows next to none.
The interior leather sweatband has slight wear but is still quite supple. The front features a brass plate denoting the 16th Regiment, Defendant N.G.S.N.Y, and complete with a white plume.
The interior shows a tremendous maker marking for the Military Regalia and Fireman’s Goods Company Baker & McKenney. The size is written under the maker’s mark as 6¾.
A gorgeous example in great condition, ready for further research and display.
