Original Item: Only One Available. This is a nice condition early 20th century Spanish American War Pennsylvania National Guard 110th Regiment Dress Shako helmet. The pressed, black felt is in very good condition. Â The leather front visor shows a bit of heavy crazing, while the crown shows some as well.
The interior leather sweatband has slight wear but is still quite supple. The front features a brass plate denoting the 110th National Guard, and there is a blue and green plume on the crown.
The interior shows a tremendous maker tag for W. Stokes Kirk of Philadelphia, PA. The size is written over the maker’s mark as 7 ⅛, and there is a name next to this, M. Darey? The shako has buttons that we do not recognize.
A gorgeous example in great condition, ready for further research and display.Â
