The Story

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a lovely powder horn dating to the early 19th Century with a lovely retained leather carrying rope, but this was likely added during the late 19th century. Around the throat are remnants of the horn’s original carrying strap, which adds some great character.

The horn measures 12” long and does not retain a plug. The rounded wooden bottom is secured with 6 crude nails, correct construction for this period.

A lovely example with a lovely carrying rope. Ready for further research and display.
