Childs, Company F, 104th Engineer Regiment, 29th Division, who fought in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive during the war. The grouping comes with a newspaper article announcing the award of the Verdun Medal to Childs, as well as his original certificate.
The group includes:
- Childs’ WWI Victory Medal with Meuse-Argonne and Defensive Sector bars in its original shipping box addressed to Childs at his home in West Peru, Maine.Â
- Childs’ WWI Verdun Medal in its original box with the newspaper article announcing it. Also included is the award certificate bearing his name, unit, and engagements.
- Childs’ Collar Discs, US 104 and Engineer Company F, a really rare set of discs in their own right.Â
