This is a great lot of U.S. WWI patches, insignia, pins, and medals worn by members of the American Expeditionary Forces, with a couple of other country bits here and there. There is a fantastic Sterling Navy engraved dog tag locket, some great patches, and a lovely Balloon Corps Veterans pin.
The items include:
- WWI Dog Tags on original rope neck string, John D. Barone, 1959924. Served in 1st Corp Artillery Park as Wagoner, overseas from May 22nd 1918 to April 14th, 1919.
- Beautiful WWI Navy Sterling Locket engraved ASSISTANT PAYMASTER EARNEST LINWOOD DYER USNRF USA with his dog tag inside. Fingerprint on back. Outstanding piece.Â
- 5th Division patch, red diamond, uniform removed.Â
- 5th Division patch on wool backing, moth damage.Â
- 27th Division patch, good stitching.
- 86th Division patch, standard embroidery, some moth nips along edge.
- 86th Division patch, great hand-made example with irregular eagle.
- Veterans of the 314th Infantry Log Cabin memorial button, trench mirror on reverse.
- National Association of American Balloon Corps Veterans pin, rare.
- Two overseas chevrons, bullion.
- Five Red Cross pins, two dated 1918, one dated 1919, one plain, and one enamel.Â
- American Legion buttonhole pin.
- AEF Two chevron cap pin.Â
- British 1914 “On War Service” buttonhole pin, numbered B86005.Â
- Victory Girls I am Enrolled Pin.
- American Legion School Award table medal, awarded around 1925, in original box with mini-pin.
- British R.F.C. ribbon with Prov. Pat. stamped on back. Interesting piece.
- American Legion Medal lot, three Delegate medals, one member medal, and one 1952 convention medal. All medals are 1951-1953 dated.
- St. Louis 1904 2nd Co. Gov. Foot Guard medal. Good shape.Â
