Original U.S. WWI “Help Crush the Menace of the Seas” Rainbow Division Special Liberty Loan Committee Poster with Period Liberty Loan Stickers on Edges - 18¼ x 28”

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a very scarce WWI Liberty Loan poster, printed in far fewer numbers than the more popular examples. This example was made up for the Rainbow Division Special Liberty Loan Committee. The Rainbow Division, or the 42nd Division, was formed from 27 National Guard units from across the U.S., forming a “Rainbow” stretching across the country.

This poster depicts a bloodied fist holding a knife rising from the sea, with an American ship in the background. The caption reads:

The poster measures 18¼ x 28” and has some damage including a large chunk of the border missing on the right side and some tearing across the edges. Interestingly, the poster has been affixed with period 4th Liberty Loan stickers along the bottom and top edges, giving it a great overall look. A great candidate for being framed.
