Original Item: Only One Available. Designed for the U.S. M1903 Springfield rifle, this heavy cotton canvas case with top flap will work well with almost any rifle up to 46" inches in length. This way they were also able to be used with the M1917 "American Enfield" rifle. This high quality canvas case has brass adjustment buckles and end caps on the webbing, and also still retains the adjustable carry shoulder strap, attached to the steel hanger rings. It marked by maker BRAUER BROS, a known maker of WWI canvas items, and is dated OCT-18 for October 1918.
Overall this case is in very good condition, especially considering the age and a century of storage. It does show some areas of staining due to water exposure, but no rotting out. Ter are a few stitch errors in the canvas, but no holes that we can see. There is some oxidation on the fittings, as to be expected for an item of this age.
Springfield cases in such great condition are very difficult to find on the market today, especially ones in such great condition! Ready to display along with your WWI U.S. Rifles!
