Original Item. Only One Available. This is a great example of a scarce Navy 3” round manufactured during World War I by the Canadian Garland Manufacturing Company of Hamilton, Ontario. The projectile is very heavy and is an armor-piercing variant. This would have been used on the 3-inch/50-caliber gun.
Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.
The casing retains the following stamps on the base:
G.M. CO.
1917
3IN. L.G.
LOT 433 (ANCHOR) J.B.S.
The round measures 17¾” tall with the projectile inserted. We don’t think the projectile currently removes.
A great round for the 3-inch/50-caliber gun. Ready for display!
