The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. This poster shows the American vision of co-operation between soldiers and machinists. The soldier, surrounded by the flag, is making the same posture as the machinist. One of the most under rated designs of the entire period, eloquently showing a ship riveter at work in front of a light purple silhouette, unfurled flags and yellow background.
The Emergency Fleet Corporation, organized to operate merchant ships for the U.S. government, was fast approaching the goal of launching one hundred ships a day. The American worker, using his tools as weapons, is seen standing side by side with the American soldiers in the field.
The poster measures an impressive 25 x 38¼” and is in good overall shape with some heavy folding and tearing damage in the bottom right corner. There are also small rips and tears along the edges of the entire poster. The color is retained very well overall, and this example would look extravagant in a frame.
Comes ready to frame and display!
NOTE: This poster will ship rolled.
