Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent example of a 90th Division medic’s wool tunic. The best feature of the tunic is the 90th Division shoulder sleeve insignia. The division insignia consists of a monogrammatic red "T" and "O" on a square olive drab background. It was adopted by the 90th Division during World War I because most of its original personnel were drafted from Texas and Oklahoma. The 90th Division fought with distinction in the St. Mihiel & Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
The wool uniform itself is in wonderful condition and exhibits minor wear and virtually no moth nips. This was more than likely a uniform that was worn during the Occupation or on the way home. The left shoulder features a lovely TO “Tough Ombres” insignia. The insignia itself is beautiful and still completely attached.
The chevrons present are a single red discharge stripe on the left sleeve and one inverted overseas chevron on the lower left cuff denoting 6 months of overseas service, both sets still completely attached and in wonderful condition. There is also a Sergeant’s rate on the right sleeve, and a lovely WWI Victory Medal ribbon stitched above the left breast pocket. There are US and Medical collar insignia, meaning that he could have been a sergeant in the 115th Sanitary Train, including Ambulance Companies & Field Hospitals 357, 358, 359, and 360. They could have also been part of the medical detachment of any of the units of the 90th.
The included breeches are in great condition without any serious issues besides some moth damage. They retain their ropes as well.
