The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. WWII 101st Airborne material are some of the hardest most collectible items on the market, due to the small number of paratroops that landed in combat in comparison to infantry soldiers.
This is a great Ike Jacket uniform belonging to a Technician, 5th Grade serving with the Glider Infantry of the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. The jacket bears lovely 101st Airborne and 1st Allied Airborne patches on the shoulders, Technician 5th Grade rates on the sleeves, and three overseas stripes on the left cuff. There are US & Infantry collar discs, a Ruptured Duck Honorable Discharge patch over the right breast pocket, and a Presidential Unit Citation on the pocket. Over the left breast pocket is a set of Sterling glider wings, and a three-place ribbon bar with the Good Conduct ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern campaign ribbon with three campaign stars, and the WWII Victory ribbon.
The interior of the jacket has several laundry numbers written or stamped, including H-2255, H-0856, and some others which are too faded to read.
A great 101st uniform, ready for further research and display.
