Original U.S. WWII 29th & 36th Infantry Division Captain’s Uniform Grouping - Captain C. E. Bogle, 115th Infantry Regiment

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a lovely WWII Officer’s uniform group belonging to Captain C.E. Bogle, who we have been unable to identify. Bogle first served with the 36th Infantry Division before being transferred as Captain of a company of the 115th Infantry Regiment, 29th ID. We found a newspaper article stating that he (Lt. C.E. Bogle) was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart, and that he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Bogle of Missouri. A good research project.

The group includes:
- Bogle’s officer’s jacket bearing the 29th Infantry Division patch on the left shoulder, the 36th Infantry Division patch on the right shoulder, with six gorgeous bullion overseas stripes on the left cuff, denoting 3 years overseas. There is US and Infantry collar insignia (one infantry pin is missing), Captain’s bars on each shoulder, and a Presidential Unit Citation with a frame over the right breast pocket. Over the left breast pocket is a six-place ribbon bar with the Bronze Star with OLC, the Purple Heart with OLC, the American Defense Medal, the Euro-ME-African Campaign Medal with four campaign stars and an invasion arrowhead, the VFW Membership Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. Above this is a lovely likely-Sterling Combat Infantryman Badge. The name BOGLE is written twice in the lining, and in the pocket is a great maker’s tag with the name C.E. BOGLE and a date, 7-8-42, for July 8th, 1942. This jacket certainly saw many years of wear. 
- Bogle’s officer’s garrison cap with Captain’s bar and black/gold piping. However, the sweatband is perforated with the initials JRL, so it may be reissued or just added. Likely Size 7.
- Bogle’s jacket belt and tie.
- Bogle’s Army shirt with Captains bars on one collar tab and 115th Infantry regiment insignia on the other tab. There is a 29th ID patch on the left shoulder. Size is 14½-32.
