The Story

Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Group. This is a great uniform & ephemera group primarily identified to Riley E. Horton, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. There is also some ephemera identified to his brother, Harry E. Horton, who served with the AAC pre-war and with the AAF during the war. 

The group consists of:

- Rileye’s Ike uniform jacket with a 9th Infantry Division patch on the left shoulder, five overseas stripes on the left cuff, Staff Sergeant chevrons on each sleeve, US & Infantry collar discs, a Ruptured Duck discharge patch over the right breast pocket, a Sharpshooter ladder badge on the left breast pocket, and a 4-place ribbon bar divided by a Combat Infantryman Badge. The ribbons include the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign medal with three stars, and the WWII Victory Medal. The jacket is size-marked 42R. 
- Organized folder with photos, letters, documents, postcards, Western Union telegrams, and much more to both Riley & Harry. 
- Document certifying Riley’s awarding of the Combat Infantryman Badge on July 3rd, 1944.

Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Group. This is a great uniform & ephemera group primarily identified to Riley E. Horton, 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division.
