The Story

Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Group. This is the lovely grouping of Staff Sergeant Arthur A. Boisvert, who served in the 161st Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron during World War II. The group includes his Ike jacket, dog tags, some great aerial photographs, and more!

The group includes:
- Boisvert’s Ike jacket with a lovely “beaded” 9th Air Force patch on the left shoulder, four gorgeous solid brass overseas stripes (often made from the British wound stripe), and a service stripe below them on the left cuff. There are Staff Sergeant rates on each sleeve, and US & Air Corps collar discs. There’s a Ruptured duck honorable discharge patch above the right breast pocket, and on the left breast pocket is a Sharpshooter badge for Carbine. Above the pocket is a 4 place ribbon bar with the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, and the WWII Victory Medal. The size inside is marked 36S.
- WWII Army Garrison cap with Air Corps piping.
- Several great large photographs of Boisvert’s unit stateside at the Boeing School of Aeronautics, graduated July 29th, 1942. One of these photos has signatures of every man in the photo with great annotations.
- Small bag with dozens of photos of varying size taken overseas, sightseeing, dancers, showing men in leather jackets, one where there are patches on the jackets, just more than we could ever write.
- Two great aerial photographs taken in Nuremburg, Germany, showing destroyed buildings.
- SIX Small Bear Photo Service photo booklets with tons of great photos taken during training and stateside. Some photos of them in planes, some sightseeing. These booklets are really fantastic.
- Brown leather belt named and serial numbered to Boisvert on back.
- Small fraternal pendant.
- Plastic army whistle on chain.
- K of C handkerchief.
- Two of Arthur Boisvert’s dog tags with NOK information. No chain.
- Two of his BROTHER’s DOG TAGS, Roger J. Boisvert, with attached key on chain. From a quick search we found he served in Patton’s 3rd Army in Germany.
- Boisvert’s Laundry Number stamp, B-6091. We’ve never seen one of these before!
- National Radio Institute and JOC pins in medal box.
- Boisvert’s Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal in a medal box.
- Miscellanois ephemera pieces.

This is a tremendous and fascinating group with some fantastic photography. Comes ready for further research and display.
