Original U.S. WWII Aerial Gunner’s Optical Sight Type N-6A in Custom-Built Functional Display with Miniature Target Plane

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a tremendous display piece that really brings aerial combat of the Second World War to life! This N-6A optical sight was custom-built into this display, which incorporates a crudely built hanger with a small toy plane attached to a string. The sight is still functional, and when plugged in, the original reticle appears, and you’re able to view the model plane as if you yourself were behind the gunner’s seat. The glass of the sight is cracked as shown, but the set is still functional, and the reticle appears without issue.

The entire set measures roughly 15 x 4½ x 11”. The partial data plate on the sight reads:

The base of the set has been stenciled to identify the sight and the planes on which it was used, the B-17G / B-24.

This is a really phenomenal set, the only issue being the broken glass, but as shown it still works fine. Comes ready for further research and display.
