Original U.S. WWII Air Transport Command Uniform Group with Bullion SSI and Sterling Air Crew Wings

Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Group. Air Transport Command (ATC) was a United States Air Force unit that was created during World War II as the strategic airlift component of the United States Army Air Forces.

It had two main missions, the first being the delivery of supplies and equipment between the United States and the overseas combat theaters; the second was the ferrying of aircraft from the manufacturing plants in the United States to where they were needed for training or for operational use in combat. ATC also operated a worldwide air transportation system for military personnel.

This is a nice uniform set to a Sergeant in the ATC. It includes:

- Ike jacket with Air Transport Command rocker patch over bullion AAF patch on left shoulder, two overseas stripes and a service stripe on the left cuff, an Engineering Specialist Patch on the right cuff, US & AAF collar discs and two ATC pins on the collar, a maker-marked set of Sterling air crew wings over a 4-place ribbon bar with the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American campaign medal, and E-A-MD Campaign medal. There is a ruptured duck patch over the right breast pocket. The size of the jacket is marked 38S.
- Two Army shirts, L5635 laundry number in one shirt. Both shirts have AAF patches, Sergeant chevrons, and the Engineering Specialist Patch on the right cuff.
- Army Enlisted visor cap, featherweight. Size 7 ¼.
- War Department pamphlet No 21-4, Going back to civilian life.
