Original U.S. WWII American Anti-German Multi-piece Cast Iron “Der Phew-Ur” Skunk Caricature

Original Item: Only one available. Here we have a great piece of World War II American Home front Anti-German propaganda. These skunk caricatures of Adolf H were actually referred to as “Der Phew-Ur”, and were sold nationwide in numerous stores. We previously had one of these that was ceramic, however this example is made from several pieces of cast iron which were welded together, and is relatively heavy for its size. Additionally, the back of the tail is marked MUSSOLINI and HIROHITO, the other two axis leaders, though due to oxidation this can be hard to read.

The skunk does suffer from some war wounds, including paint cracking / checking, some paint deterioration, and some scratches and chips. There is also overall light oxidation to the iron body, but overall it is in very good condition considering the age. Just the thing for any WWII home front propaganda collector!
