The Story

Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding example of the scarce “Get That Fighter” manual meant to train aerial gunners in the AAF on taking down enemy fighters which threaten the lives of every man aboard your B-17/B-25 etc. The imagery in the manual is very attractive and would have been very effective in teaching aerial gunners the correct way to defend your aircraft.

The manual measures 4 x 6¾” and is named on the interior MCGINLEY, C.J. 44-12 SQD #6 TENT L-12, certainly the name of an aerial gunner in training. This could possibly have belonged to Technical Sergeant Charles J. McGinney, radio operator and gunner aboard B-17G #43-38124 who was killed in action when B-17 #42-31066, which was hit by enemy flak, fell and struck his B-17 causing it to crash near Hamburg, Germany during the war.

A great manual with great research potential. Comes ready for further research and display!
