The Story

Original Items. Only One Lot Available. This is a great lot of WWII autographs including two signed pieces to Enola Gay pilot Paul Tibbets.

The lot includes:

- 3 ⅝ x 6½” envelope for 50th anniversary of WWII ending signed by Paul Tibbets. We cannot tell if this was actually signed by Tibbets or if it’s just printed on.
- 8 x 10” reprinted photo of Tibbets in front of Enola Gay signed in top right corner.
- 8 x 10” reprinted photo of fighter ace William Y. Anderson signed in bottom corner. William Yngve Anderson (June 28, 1921 – May 9, 2011) was a Swedish-born American fighter ace of World War II, credited with seven official victories in Europe while flying P-51 Mustang fighters with the United States Army Air Forces.
- 8 x 10” reprinted photo of Arthur C. Fielder, Fighter ace, signed in bottom right corner. During World War II, Arthur Fiedler became a U.S. Army Air Forces ACE, credited with shooting down 8 enemy aircraft in aerial combat. Recalled to active duty in the U.S. Air Force in 1950, he flew in Korea and Vietnam, before retiring in 1975 as a U.S. Air Force Colonel.
- 8 ½ x 11” reprinted photo of Fighter Ace Joseph Forster, signed in top left corner with his unit and “Satan’s Angels”. During World War II, Joseph Forster became a U.S. Army Air Forces ACE, credited with shooting down 9 enemy aircraft in aerial combat. After the war he transferred to the new U.S. Air Force, including flying combat missions in Vietnam before he retired in 1971 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

A great lot of autographs, ready for further research and display.
