Original U.S. WWII Era U.S. Army Embroidered Insignia Album with 290 Patches Total in Original Box with Shoulder Patch Insignia Booklet - 11 ½ x 15 ½”

Original Item. Only One Available. This is a truly outstanding piece that took someone a great deal of time to put together. This is the type of album you could’ve bought from Patch King or Hobby Guild and you then ordered the patches and glued them in the album. All patches are machine embroidered, all unused. The album measures 11 ½ x 15 ½ x 2 ½” and contains 290 patches. As is standard in these albums, the World War I era patches are all later-made patch king style examples.

The album has 21 numbered pages and is now very thick due to the weight and mass of the patches. Only two of the patches are detached from the album, those being the “Sheepshead” merchant marine school patch and the Minecraft Personnel patch. The album covers are now a bit loose as the two screws holding it all together are loose, but this could be fixed with some time and effort.

The set comes in its original box which is decorated with eagles over Vs for Victory. The box has heavy damage with tearing along the edges, but it is complete and measures 12 ¼ x 16 ¼ x 2 ¾”.

Also included in the box is a 8 ½ x 10 ½” booklet titled “Shoulder Patch Insignia of the United States Armed Forces” and was put together by Wolf Appleton in New York. The booklet shows lovely embroidered examples of patches on 19 pages, with some very interesting and uncommon examples shown. There are no actual patches in this booklet, just depictions of them embroidered.
