The Story

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. The Waco CG-4 was the most widely used American troop/cargo military glider of World War II. It was designated the CG-4A by the United States Army Air Forces, and given the service name Hadrian (after the Roman emperor) by the British. This is an interesting set of camouflage fabric removed from a Waco glider, one that was used during the D-Day landings on June 6th, 1944, part of the Spearhead of the invasion and as part of the re-supply in the days that followed.

The frame measures roughly 6¾ x 9½”. The frame is certainly very old, but we aren’t sure when the frame would have been put together. A great set of camouflage fabric, perfect for any D-Day collection.

Comes ready for further research and display.
