Original Items. One-of-a-Kind Set. This is an outstanding grouping of items attributed to George S. Patton Jr., one of the greatest Generals in American history. The group includes a desk planner/clock with the monogram G S P attached at the top, a small 6th Armored Division (Patton’s 6th Armored Division) trench art star piece, and a small framed signature of Patton’s. This unfortunately came with no provenance but comes with two framed photos of Patton which are likely reprints.
The day planner starts on July 30th, 1939, with many pages before that torn out, and ends on January 6th, 1940. There is a clock embedded in the center but it is not functional. It has two tall legs and two short legs so it sits at a slant. It measures 6 ¼ x 8 ¾ x 1 ⅞”.
The small trench art piece is a three-sided pyramid with the 6th Armored Division insignia engraved on all sides with a star on a stick in the middle with the campaigns of the division engraved on. The star is not stuck in the pyramid and comes out, with a small bit of damage at the top, though the star sits inside fine for display. It measures 6 ⅝” tall and the sides of the pyramid are 3” each.
The small framed signature of Patton’s measures 5 Âľ x 7 ¾” and the card itself measures 2 â…ś x 4 ⅜”. The signature appears to be Patton’s but we have no way to truly verify it.Â
The two framed reprinted photos of Patton measure 7 ⅝ x 9 ⅝” each.
A very interesting set that will look fantastic in any Patton collection! Ready for further research and display.
