Original U.S. WWII Identified 90th Infantry Division 1st Lieutenant’s Uniform Group with M1943 Double-Buckle Boots - Stephen J. Jansky Jr.

Original Items. One-of-a-Kind. This is the lovely uniform grouping of 1st Lieutenant Stephen J. Jansky Jr., who served with an Infantry Regiment of the 90th Infantry Division during World War II, being awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart Medal. The group includes his uniform jacket, garrison cap, and his M1943 Double Buckle combat service boots.

The group consists of:
- Jansky’s officer’s uniform with a 90th Infantry Division patch on the left shoulder, two overseas stripes on the left cuff, and U.S. & Infantry collar insignia. There are 1st Lieutenant bars on each shoulder, and a Presidential Unit Citation with a frame over the right breast pocket. Over the left breast pocket is a five-place ribbon bar with the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Euro-ME-African Campaign Medal with three campaign stars and an invasion arrowhead, and the WWII Victory Medal. Above this is a lovely likely-Sterling Combat Infantryman Badge.
- Jansky’s officer’s shirt and tie. 
- Jansky’s officer’s garrison cap with blue infantry piping.
- Jansky’s WWII M1943 Double Buckle Combat Service Boots, in Size 5½E. Good service wear, no maker’s info we could find. A great addition and rare to find on their own.

Stephen J. Jansky Jr. was born on March 7th, 1920 in Whiting, Indiana. He enlisted on October 17th, 1941 at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, and was trained as a Warrant Officer, being commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant on January 31st, 1943. He traveled overseas with an infantry regiment of the 90th ID, being awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He returned stateside and worked as a yard clerk for a food dispatcher company. He passed away on January 31st, 2002, at the age of 81.
