$75.00The Story
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a dummy shell, produced to train gun crews to set the fuze and to manually load ]guns. Produced in 1944, this dummy shell likely saw use training anti-aircraft of tank destroyer crews during WWII and maybe later. This round is completely inert, and cannot be converted to any type of explosive device. As with all deactivated ordnance, this item is not available for export.
This is a good example which is marked well on the fuze:
FUZE, DUMMY, M59
The fuze is screwed in and is in good shape. The round itself is one piece with groove marks across. The bottom of the casing is stamped:
DRILL CART. M15 & M15B1 FOR 3 IN. GUN, M1918, M1, M3, & M7
MMC 1944 DNH
This denotes a manufacture date of 1944. Great information about the guns that this round could have been used in! The round measures 33¾” overall and has good wear across.
Comes ready for further research and display.
