The Story

Original Item: Only One Available. Totally inert and demilitarized according to BATF guidelines with hollow body and inert fuse. This grenade cannot be converted to an explosive device and is not available for export.

This is a very interesting WWII issue M18 cylinder yellow smoke grenade, complete with the original inert fuze in a husk container. The tin plated sheet steel body is marked on the side:

SMOKE
YELLOW

HA 9-43
LOT 159

The top and bottom of the grenade have small pieces of tape covering the holes that were originally there. There were four holes on the top and one hole on the bottom, with paint covering the tape. This is correct for the M18 from other examples we have seen. This is the best example of an M18 we have had.

The grenade measures 5 3/4" in overall length, and the deactivated M200A1 fuse on the top unscrews for inspection. It reads:

FUZE M200A1
K LOT P-
672-46

It has the correct WWII Style "spoon". It comes in an original husk container which is marked on the top and bottom with GRENADE HAND, SMOKE (WP) meaning this husk was meant for a white phosphorous grenade. Still looks good for display.

A great piece of grenade history, ready to display!
