Original U.S. WWII Jungle First-Aid Kit with Partial Contents Including 10 Bottles of Insect Repellent

Original Item. Only One Available. The Jungle First-Aid Kit (Large) was already developed in 1941 for supply to military aircraft flying over jungle areas. The Kit was specially designed for use in tropical areas, and contained a number of items specifically for use in the jungle and tropics. Typical products included Insect Repellent to keep mosquitoes and other insects away and avoid insect bites and stings; Atabrine Tablets to be taken as a precaution against Malaria; Water-Purifying Tablets to help improve the quality of impure drinking water; Salt Tablets to prevent the bad effects of heat and sweating; Snake-Bite Kit to prevent snake venom from spreading throughout the body; and Sulfaguanidine to treat Dysentery.

This example measures 17½ x 10 x 5” and is in fair shape with some of its original contents. The paint on the front is in good shape with some bubbling, and the original canvas carrying strap is intact, although due to the wear we wouldn’t recommend using it.

The contents include:

- 10 Bottles of Insect Repellent, all by Allied Products Inc.
- Two tubes of Sodium Bicarbonate and Peppermint Tablets, both about half full.
- Aloin Compound tube, mostly full.
- Two bottles of Halazone water purification tablets. 
- Four boxes of 6 Iodine swabs each, all appear unused but one box is broken open.

The original label on the interior is intact with staining, with descriptions of the contents and instructions. A great partially filled kit, ready for further research and display.
