Original U.S. WWII & Korean War 3rd Infantry Division Cigarette Lighter & Cigarette Case Lot - Four Items Total

Original Items. Only One Lot Available. The 3rd Division is the only division of the U.S. Army during World War II that fought the Axis on all European fronts, and was among the first American combat units to engage in offensive ground combat operations. Audie Murphy, the most highly decorated American soldier of the war, served with the 3rd Division. The 3rd Infantry Division saw combat in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany and Austria for 531 consecutive days. During the war, the 3rd Infantry Division consisted of the 7th, 15th and 30th Infantry Regiments, together with supporting units.

This is a lovely lot of WWII & Korean War 3rd Infantry Division lighters and a cigarette case. They consist of:

- U.S. WWII 3rd Infantry Division Cigarette case in original box, with the campaigns fought and the awards received around the insignia on the front. The back has a map showing their movement from 1942-1945. The original box shows manufacture by Style King, S. Buschbaum & Company of Chicago.
- Penguin WWII 3rd ID Lighter with SHAEF and 7th Army insignia with other side reading “Compliments N.C.O. Clubs Wurzburg Germany”. Japanese-made. Non-functional.
- Fbelo Monopol lighter with map of Germany, with initials F.M.S. This example actually still sparks and will likely work when lighter fluid is inserted!
- 3rd Infantry Division Korean War lighter marked GERMAN U.S. ZONE on bottom. The design is somewhat toaster-like in appearance. The lever on the side is pulled down to open the middle. This one also still sparks and will likely work when lighter fluid is inserted!
