Original Item: Only One Available. This is a good WWII period Mark 3 U.S. fighting knife, with the guard deeply stamped with, U.S. M3 / CASE. The 6 3/4 inch spear point blade is in fair condition with wear but little if any loss of finish. The blade is still quite sharp and in fair service-worn condition with some sharpening marks. The handle and stacked leather grip are in similar condition with little wear. There are no major cracks, and the leather is still soft, though due to shrinking the cross guard is now loose. The bottom of the pommel doesn’t seem to have had a flaming bomb mark.
The original scabbard is in great shape and is marked U.S. M8 / B.M. CO.. This would be the earlier pattern of the scabbard, without the retaining loop, though it was later updated to have one. The scabbard was manufactured by Beckwith Mfg Co. a division of Victory Plastics. This example still retains its leather tiedown which is in great shape.
A fair example of a real service-used M3 Fighting knife, with a good look and scabbard. Ready to display!
Dimensions:
Blade length: 6 3/4”
Blade Style: Spear Point Knife
Overall length: 11 5/8”
Crossguard: 2 1/4”
Scabbard length: 7 3/8" with belt loop.
