Original U.S. WWII Model 1939 American Service Shoe Low Boots - Size 8½D

Original Items: Only One pair Available. Known as the Model 1939 American Service Shoe these low quarter boots were also called walking out boots by USGIs. These were standard issue to US troops serving in the Army and Air Force at the start of the WW2, eventually replaced by the rough-out boot. This pair in heavily worn condition with cracking and crazing at the back. The boots are made from russet brown leather with leather toe cap and a two piece stitched-in rubber sole. Worn in combat with the M1938 leggings, these boots were also popular off-duty.

The inside of both boots are marked 8 ½ D. The laces are in good shape but the leather around them is weak. The rear soles are in great shape and are made by LIGHT TREAD, but the leather of the foot is heavily worn on both boots as shown. Overall condition is fair. The word HY-TEST  is stamped on the side along the top edge of one shoe.

This is a nice set of very scarce WWII Boots, ready for further research and display!
