Original Item: Only One Available. From 1939 onward, the standard issue US Army soft cap was the garrison cap. Also known as overseas cap, pisscutter, or sidecap. Although there were variations in the lining styles, the pattern was consistent throughout WW2.
This example is an original WWII issue wool overseas cap. This overseas cap was issued to an enlisted man or NCO in the parachute or glider infantry as evident by the glider & parachute patch and the blue infantry piping.
The interior is in good shape with a fully intact sweatband and lovely checkered lining. There is a size stamp for 6⅝ as well as a manufacturer’s tag for the Morris Army Stores in Clarksville, Tennessee.
