Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine World War II Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1943). OWI Poster No. 23 "A Careless Word...Another Cross." The poster is unframed and only has the original fold creases from when it was originally shipped to where it would be displayed.
Bottom border of the poster reads:
OWI Poster- No. 23, Additional copies may be obtained upon request from the Division of Public Inquiries, office of War Information, Washington D.C., U.S. Government Printing Office: 1943-O-501237
This war propaganda poster with artwork by John Atherton was meant to impress upon all who view it the importance of keeping quiet in regards to military tactics and positions. An unrestored totally original poster with a very clean overall appearance. It has signs of use, such as slight edge and fold wear, and minor creases.
The Poster has been folded, as it was originally for mailing to various government locations around the country. The folds have some minor tearing at the edges. There is some staining at the bottom of the poster but thanks to the dark background it is not very noticeable from the front. Good condition with almost full color retention.
A scarce & grim WWII poster, ready to frame and display.
