The Story

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is an outstanding once-in-a-lifetime offering, the first Airborne guidon we have ever offered. This battle-flown guidon denotes Company E of the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. The guidon measures 19 x 28” and shows heavy fraying along the swallowtails and spotted holes in the overall fabric.

The guidon depicts crossed flintlock rifles under 327 and over E, for Company E of the 327th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Original swallowtail guidons are incredibly difficult to find for combat units, let alone units in the 82nd Airborne Division. The guidon retains both leather loops in the header, but this example would be best professionally framed so that it may be displayed for decades to come.

Also included with the guidon are two Church programs for the Airborne Christian Church: 327th Glider Infantry, for masses taking place on August 19th and August 29th, 1945. They are both in great shape and are outstanding artifacts in their own right.

Also included is a great 8 x 10” shot of the “First and Last Review of 82nd Division Camp Claiborne Louisiana on August 15th, 1942. The photo shows companies of the 1st Battalion carrying their guidons, which are identical in construction and design to this one. This is the real deal!

We likely won’t ever see another Airborne unit guidon, so don’t miss out on this rare opportunity!
