Original Item. Only One Available. The attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 ignited not only anger towards the enemy, it also sparked a wildfire of patriotism in every American in all corners of the country. As the war effort was kicked into overdrive, Americans did everything they could to remind each other why they were fighting and what could be lost. A prime example of these reminders is this small glass wall display you are looking at here. It is very patriotic in nature and design, with the slogan “Remember Pearl Harbor” on the top. In the early years of WWII how could you not remember Pearl Harbor?
This is an interesting 6 ½” diameter glass display piece with the words “REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR” on top of the glass. The glass is rounded and is roughly ½” deep. The interior depicts a Battleship passing the Statue of Liberty in New York with two planes flying overhead. The glass is encased along the edges in an old medical tape material.
The back shows that there is a small string which is meant to hang the piece on the wall. This is a small but meaningful patriotic piece put together so that the average American could mourn the deaths of the sailors and soldiers who died that day.
An interesting piece, the first of its kind we’ve had.
