The Story

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a lovely example of a 2nd Model British-made “ETO Jacket”, made in the style of British battledress. This example is named and laundry-numbered on the interior to Technician 5th Grade James Lawrence Guppy. It has no maker’s markings, only marked GUPPY G-9360

The jacket has diagonal-slit button pockets and retains all buttons although there is minor breakage in some of them. This model of jacket is very hard to find in any condition.

Guppy was born on April 20th, 1923 in West Quincy, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the Army on February 24th, 1943, serial number 31299360, was promoted to Technician 5th Grade, and was discharged on January 12th, 1946. We could not find much information regarding his service. He passed away on February 9th, 2004.

A good named representative example for your collection. Ready for display.
