The Story

Original Item: Only One Set Available. Totally inert and demilitarized according to BATF guidelines with hollow body and inert fuses. These pieces of ordnance cannot be converted to an explosive device and are not available for export.

These are genuine World War Two dated 40mm Bofors gun rounds in a clip. Each round bears either a 1943 or 1944 date on the piece that connects the shell and projectile, with those same dates being found on the bottom of the shells. The rounds are all similar-looking and make for a fantastic display. Each projectile measures approximately 17 3/4" long. The clip the rounds are in is a U.S. NAVY BU. ORD. marked example.

The projectiles of the rounds are able to be removed, with two of them a bit loose.

The Bofors 40 mm gun, often referred to simply as the Bofors gun, is an anti-aircraft autocannon designed in the 1930s by the Swedish arms manufacturer AB Bofors. It was one of the most popular medium-weight anti-aircraft systems during World War II, used by most of the western Allies as well some captured systems being used by the Axis powers. A small number of these weapons remain in service to this day, and saw action as late as the Persian Gulf War.

A fantastic set, perfect for any WWII display.
