Original U.S. WWII SHAEF Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force German-Made Double-Sided Trumpet Banner with Bullion Tassels & Insignia

Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a gorgeous & prestigious German-made trumpet banner for use by SHAEF, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force, commanded by General Eisenhower. The Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force was the headquarters of the Commander of Allied forces in north west Europe, from late 1943 until the end of World War II. U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower was the commander in SHAEF throughout its existence. The position itself shares a common lineage with Supreme Allied Commander Europe and Atlantic, but they are different titles.

The banner is of gorgeous bullion construction with bullion fringe around the banner and bullion tassels at each end. The SHAEF insignia is made with bullion on both sides, and there is only some minor moth damage to the insignia. This example would look absolutely tremendous in a frame. The banner sat in a riker case with a lot of cotton, and some is still stuck to bits of the bullion. After being cleaned up and framed, it will become a prestigious piece of your WWII Collection!

The banner measures roughly 11 x 12” not including the fringe and tassels. Comes ready for further research and display!
