The Story

Original Item. Only One Available. This is an interesting example of what we believe to be a CASE XX 337-6 “Q” (Quartermaster Knife) which was soldier-modified during World War II, likely in 1944 which is carved into the crossguard. Remnants of the CASE XX marking can be seen on one side of the ricasso.
The grip has been hatched in a similar vein to German bayonets and trench knives. The 6⅜” blade still retains its bright finish. The crossguard is brass and is etched with 194(4?), the final number appears incomplete but is likely a sideways 4. The pommel is also of brass with an interesting shape. The knife is overall 10 15/16”
The custom leather scabbard appears to be wrapped with electrical tape on some of the body and the belt loop which was done at one point post-war to repair it. There is a small bit of a shoelace at the top of the belt loop to make it a belt loop. The body has good stitching and some lovely carvings in the leather.

A very interesting Case knife, modified during the war. Comes ready for further research and display.
Specifications:
Blade Length: 6⅜"
Blade Style: Single Edged with Slight Drop Point
