Original U.S. WWII Theater-Made Bowie Knife with Sheath - Named J.L. Casale

Original Item: Only One Available. During World War II, many machine shops and knife makers produced thousands of combat knives for the US troops. This included an unknown craftsman who produced this exceptional fighting knife, which we are honored to offer. These knives are referred to as "Theater Knives" by collectors, indicating that they were either produced or modified by US servicemen in the field, despite being purpose-made fighting knives manufactured in the United States.

This is an interesting example made with a bowie-style blade and fuller on both sides. The blade is 5 ½” long and has the name J.L. CASALE stamped into it, a great research project. The overall length is 10 ¼”.

The sheath is very crude but fits the knife well, and has a hand-cut belt loop. Including the belt loop, it is 11”.
